All major mint errors on 1943 U.S. Steel Cents are scarce to rare. It is a one year type issued during WWII. Even broadstrikes, off-centers and clips are scarce and highly collected. Dramatic errors such as double strikes, indented coins, brockages and triple strikes are rare to unique. This double struck and indent between both strikes is unique and a spectacular steel cent mint error.
This Unique Steel Cent major mint error has 2 striking errors and is in choice mint state condition. It is the only know Steel Cent that was indented between the strikes. Almost every indent occurs during the first strike. But this error occurred when an already struck coin remained in the collar, a blank entered off-center over this struck coin, subsequently was struck again, with the blank creating a 15% indent. A spectacular multiple mint error on a early U.S type coin.
