This is the unique 1796 No Stars Quarter Eagle struck in white metal. It has a famous pedigree and is listed in the Judd book. This is a private restrike possibly struck by Joseph Mickley or Montroville Dickeson from dies the mint sold as scrap.

This die trial has an impressive pedigree. I had the pleasure of handling it twenty years ago and sold it to another dealer who placed it in a world-class collection.
